This year’s event has expanded in size and has something for every homeowner

Moore County Home Builders Association 2019 Spring Home & Garden Expo

For 33 years the Sandhills area’s new home builders, remodelers and their affiliates have brought you the largest home show in Moore County – the MCHBA Spring Home & Garden Expo.

This year’s Expo will be held at The Fair Barn in Pinehurst, March 1-3, from 10am – 5pm each day. The Expo is brought to you by Builders First Source; The Pilot; Southern Pines Chevy-Buick-GMC; Pinehurst Nissan; Pinehurst Toyota; Pinehurst Homes; Pineland Homes & Remodeling and BB&T Home Mortgage.

Tickets are only $7, and all military personnel and first responders can attend free with current ID on Sunday – MCHBA’s way of saying thank-you for your service.

“The Expo is a place for homeowners to take the opportunity to dream about everything they can do with their home and find the companies to help them make their dreams come true,” said MCHBA President Ryan Paschal. “Many people make their dreams happen here each year.”

The show has moved from place to place over the years, looking for more room as it grew into the 50-plus vendor exhibition it is today. It’s found a home at The Fair Barn – a quaint 100-year-old building listed on the National Register of Historic Places in the gentile surroundings of Pinehurst. It’s the largest facility of its kind in Moore County.

The Barn holds up to 38 vendors inside 10’ x 10’ booths – companies that offer plumbing, interior design, storage, window treatments, flooring, landscaping, pools, remodeling and anything else you can think of for your home.

Because of the high demand from local business, MCHBA established a large tent several years ago in the grassy knoll area, outside the Barn’s back entrance to accommodate up to 12 more vendors.

But now even that is not enough space. For 2019 MCHBA has replaced the tent with up to 30 outdoor 10’ x 10’ booth spaces, similar to a Farmer’s Market layout. Vendors bring all their own equipment and pay half the price of a booth inside the Barn for the entire weekend.

“This will give companies a chance to stretch their legs a little and do more with displays,” said Expo coordinator Cyndi Fifield. “It’s a great chance to show the “Garden” side of Home & Garden.”

In 2019 the Expo brings a new idea to decorate the outside of your home – five brands of new cars on display from the local Pinehurst Auto Mall that will give your home the nice outdoor accent it deserves.

MCHBA will also hold its annual Sunday charity raffle for a $1,700 John Deere riding lawn mower, provided by Southeast Farm Equipment of Laurinburg, with proceeds going to local non-profit organizations.

“We are excited that major community leaders like the auto dealers and The Pilot want their names associated with the Expo,” Paschal said. “It makes the Expo a true community event.”

Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at TicketMeSandhills.com. If you would like to purchase an outdoor booth space, contact Leigh Ann at 910-944-2992.  mchba.com
