On the Flea Travels to Main Street in Troy

07 Apr 2020

There’s lots to find among over 60 vendors in 8000-square feet of old southern charm

Day-tripping throughout the Sandhills is a rite of spring, and where better to begin a meandering sort of day than in downtown Troy. Nestled in the beautiful Uwharrie National Forest, it is a town of bygone appeal, and the recent reopening of The Front Porch in their new Main Street location is going to add to its revitalization.

Offering an eclectic selection of vendors, look for painted furniture to liven up a bedroom or entranceway, antiques that run the gamut of furnishings to old timey machines, local art and an array of reimagined treasures. Best of all are the classes for adults and children that range from jewelry making to painting, crafting to reinventing your own piece of furniture. The Front Porch has also connected with its local community college, MCC (Montgomery Community College), to host free and informative entrepreneurial classes for anyone that is interested.

The Front Porch is a shopping destination, and just to give yet another nudge to calendar this day-trip, this vintage mecca is right down the street from its well-known neighbor, the Capel Rug Outlet…two reasons for one enjoyable journey.
